A shared workspace for one job search
One person is looking for a job. A couple of others are helping. This is the one place all of them can see what is happening and who owes what.
A search run over group texts and a spreadsheet forgets things. The same company gets researched twice, follow-ups slip, and the deadline shows up before the comparison does.
Invite only. There is no public sign-up and no free trial.
What it holds
- Pipeline
- Every employer and role being pursued, in one list, each showing whose court it is in right now.
- People
- Who the household already knows, and the path from a name they have to somebody inside a company they want.
- Work
- Every task carries a date and an owner. A task nobody owns does not happen, so the app would rather show a gap than pretend otherwise.
- Texting
- Notes can be texted in from a phone and land as real records. Reminders about dated work come back the same way.
Who uses it
A single household: the person running the search, and the family members advising them. Everyone sees everything, and the roles only describe who does what. The candidate does the networking, the applying and the interviewing, and makes the decision at the end.
Access is an allowlist of named people. There are no customers, no marketing, and nothing here is sold.
Text messaging program
Members can opt in to receive text messages from Launchwork. Only household members are ever messaged. Nothing sent is promotional, and there is no marketing list of any kind.
Two kinds of message are sent: a reminder about a dated item the recipient personally owns, and a confirmation that something they texted in was saved.

- How often
- No more than two messages per week to any one person, and never more than one in a 24-hour period. Most weeks are zero. The limit is enforced by the system rather than left to judgement.
- Cost
- Launchwork charges nothing for this. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Opting out
- Reply STOP to any message and they stop immediately. Reply START to resume, or HELP for a description of the program. You may also ask to have your number deleted by writing to robgabel@gmail.com, and it is removed.
- Your number
- No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and opt-in data is never shared with any third party. Numbers are never sold or rented to anyone.
